Running expanded transit service for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ at MetLife Stadium comes with a significant operational cost, and New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill made clear she wasn't going to put that burden on New Jersey commuters or taxpayers. Instead, she called on the private sector to step up. DoorDash did.

Today, DoorDash and NJ Transit announced a one-year naming rights and advertising partnership, officially renaming the Meadowlands Rail Line the DoorDash Meadowlands Rail Line. The partnership, celebrated at a press event at Secaucus Junction featuring a DoorDash-wrapped locomotive, generates non-farebox revenue for NJ Transit, helping cover the costs of World Cup transit service without passing them on to the public.

“DoorDash is in New Jersey communities every single day,” said Katherine Rodriguez, Head of East Public Policy at DoorDash. “When Governor Sherrill challenged the private sector to show up for this state, we wanted to be the company that answered. We're proud to help make sure this train runs, and that it runs for New Jerseyans.”

“This partnership with DoorDash is exactly the kind of non-farebox revenue strategy that Governor Sherrill has called for — one that generates real value for NJ TRANSIT without passing additional costs on to everyday commuters,” said Kris Kolluri, NJ Transit President and CEO. “DoorDash's investment ensures that hundreds of thousands of World Cup fans coming through New Jersey will do so on a transit system that's well-resourced and ready to deliver.”

This summer, the DoorDash Meadowlands Rail Line will carry fans to all eight FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches at MetLife Stadium. Digital train tickets will read "Delivered by DoorDash." The partnership extends through June 2027 – covering major MetLife events long after the final whistle on July 19th.

DoorDash is an Official On-Demand Pick-Up and Delivery Supporter of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and FIFA Women's World Cup 2027™, serving fans across nine countries through its DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt brands.
