Today, we are excited to announce that we have partnered with Office Depot, a leading provider of business services, products and digital workplace technology solutions, to offer on-demand delivery of business and educational products from more than 1,000 Office Depot and OfficeMax stores nationwide. From laptop and desktop computers, to printers, ink and toner, cleaning and breakroom supplies, tech accessories and more, consumers can now shop for over 10,000 items from Office Depot through DoorDash’s marketplace app or website and get them delivered directly to their doorstep on-demand.

DoorDash today announced the arrival of DashMart, a new type of convenience and grocery store, in Canada. Like many of you, I read about the inhumane murder of George Floyd and Amy Cooper’s abuse of privilege last week. With this latest injustice coming on the heels of the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and so many others over the years, my emotions have ranged from anger to sadness to depression. In the same week we were able to send two astronauts on a reusable rocket into outer space, we also witnessed some of the worst behavior of our humanity, juxtaposing two ends of our human capabilities.

Over the past few days, cities and states have had to restrict the operations of restaurants and other businesses. Around the globe, the restaurants that form the backbone of our communities are being asked to change how they operate. According to the National Restaurant Association, the coronavirus epidemic is the greatest crisis the industry has ever faced. Economic forecasts indicate that restaurants and the foodservice industry could sustain $225 billion in losses and eliminate 5–7 million jobs over the next three months. This means the livelihoods of the 15.6 million hardworking people who serve you day in and day out are on the line and as their front doors are shut, they are finding every way possible to continue to serve their customers, primarily by remaining open for delivery and pick-up. Now, more than ever, they need all of our support.
