From Dumplings to Noodles: DoorDash Spotlights Top Restaurants to Celebrate Lunar New Year at Home

Lunar New Year is a time for gathering with family and friends, sharing meaningful meals, and welcoming good fortune for the year ahead. As we prepare to welcome the Year of the Horse, DoorDash is unveiling its list of top restaurants to celebrate Lunar New Year at home* – highlighting local businesses across a range of cuisines. 

According to DoorDash data, Asian staples remain everyday favorites, with customers placing more than 75,000 orders of fried rice each day** on DoorDash. Data also showed major year-over-year growth for other popular take-out dishes in 2025, compared to 2024***, such as: 

  • Orders of potstickers surged more than 500% year-over-year, crab rangoon orders were up more than 380%, and BBQ pork buns were up more than 228%, underscoring strong demand for shareable, high-appeal starters. 

  • Noodle dishes saw strong growth with chow mein orders up 300% and stir-fried noodles increasing 250%, reflecting an interest in longevity-inspired meals.

The Lunar New Year list spans Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisines, along with Filipino, Taiwanese, and pan-Asian fusion concepts, featuring everything from symbolic dumplings and long noodles, to shareable BBQ spreads, vibrant curries, and comforting classics.

The list, pulled from DoorDash data, includes small-medium sized restaurants and brands across the country with the highest average customer ratings, at least 1,000 reviews, and less than 10 stores on DoorDash, and includes:
