SUNNYVALE, CA – DoorDash and the city of Sunnyvale have agreed on a proposal to introduce Dot, the company’s autonomous delivery robot, to the Sunnyvale community. Through a measured set of steps that promote public safety and community engagement, this exciting partnership will pave the way for these all-electric, compact devices to reliably bring orders straight to a customer’s door while safely navigating city streets.

DoorDash will be participating in Sunnyvale’s Annual Tech Expo on October 15 where the community can see Dot in action. In October 2024, DoorDash attended the Tech Expo to introduce DoorDash’s autonomy work to the Sunnyvale community, and attended again in 2025 following months of collaboration with City staff. Today’s announcement marks another key milestone in DoorDash’s collaboration with the City to bring Dot to the streets of Sunnyvale.
Dot will be on the streets to begin mapping in the coming weeks.
