The Northern Super League has wrapped its historic first regular season, with four clubs now heading to the NSL Playoffs. As a founding partner and the league’s exclusive on-demand delivery platform partner, DoorDash is celebrating the season’s success by giving back – with a $60,000 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada to create more opportunities on and off the pitch.

DoorDash committed to donating nutritious meals to local community organizations that combat food insecurity earlier this year, recognizing that access to healthy food should never be the reason young women can’t pursue their athletic dreams. This new donation continues that mission by supporting programs that help youth build confidence, leadership skills, and healthy habits through sport and mentorship.

Partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada reflects that commitment and supports DoorDash’s mission to empower local communities and families within them while advancing equal access to opportunities. The donation represents $2,000 for every home-club victory during the Northern Super League’s inaugural season, split equally among twelve participating Big Brothers Big Sisters chapters in six regions with Northern Super League clubs.

  • Greater Toronto Area: $20,000 (Four Chapters)

  • Ottawa: $15,000 (Three Chapters)

  • Vancouver: $10,000 (Two Chapters)

  • Halifax: $5,000 (One Chapter)

  • Calgary: $5,000 (One Chapter)

  • Montreal: $5,000 (One Chapter)

“We’re committed to creating more equal access to opportunity in every community we serve,” said Heather Cameron, Head of Brand and Creative at DoorDash Canada. “Through our partnerships with Northern Super League and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, we’re fuelling youth programs meal by meal, neighbourhood by neighbourhood, in hopes of being a small part of kickstarting the next generation."

Every home win translates into more mentorship and support for youth across the country, funding local programs through Big Brother Big Sisters such as:

  • Go Girls! — A volunteer-driven group mentoring initiative for girls aged 11 to 14, encouraging physical activity, healthy eating, positive self-esteem, and strong communication skills.

  • Game. Set. Match. — A curriculum connecting Big Brothers Big Sisters youth and mentors through sports, shared meals, and conversations about healthy habits.

  • G.L.O.W. (Girls Linking Our Worlds) – A mentorship program for elementary school students focused on empowerment, leadership development, and confidence.

“Access to nutritious food is foundational for learning, play, and confidence,” said Jill Zelmanovits, National President and CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada. “From Vancouver to Halifax, DoorDash is helping children and families overcome barriers like food insecurity by providing access to mentorship, mental health support, and more. These wraparound solutions will build a generation of young women who are confident, healthy, connected, and ready to lead.”

This partnership reflects DoorDash’s broader commitment to empowering local communities and creating more equitable access to opportunity. By combining the power of sport, mentorship, and nutrition, DoorDash is helping fuel the next generation — one meal, one match, and one mentor relationship at a time.
