DoorDash is committed to strengthening programs that serve our merchants, Dashers, consumers, and our environment. In celebration of Earth Week, we’re proud to highlight our climate priorities and how we’re working with our community to build a sustainable future.

Net-Zero Across Scope 1 and 2 Emissions

For the fourth year in a row, DoorDash has achieved net-zero emissions across Scope 1 and 2—our direct and energy-related emissions—through a combination of reductions as well as high-quality clean energy purchases and carbon removal technology. We’ve focused our investments on the food systems and energy grids that Dashers, merchants, and consumers rely on the most.

Scaling Low and No-Emissions Delivery Globally

DoorDash programs to grow two-wheel and electric delivery offer Dashers greater access to earnings and flexible work while reducing delivery emissions.

3 stats

In 2024, we more than tripled two-wheel deliveries, with a over 360% increase in e-bike deliveries and over 140% growth in scooter deliveries. From August to September, more than half of deliveries in major cities like San Francisco, New York City, and Washington, D.C. were made on two wheels. In our first-ever report on our two-wheel delivery program, we found that the share of two-wheel devices across the U.S. and Canada has more than tripled since 2022.

Over the course of a year, we estimate that deliveries made by Dashers on two-wheeled devices save over 155,000 tons of carbon emissions compared to gas cars. Even better, where we’ve grown two-wheel delivery, Dashers earn more, customers have lower wait times, and local businesses receive more orders. Dashers can also rent or purchase safe, high-quality e-bikes at a discount.

EV and hybrid deliveries continue to increase globally. Dashers can receive 2% cash back on electric vehicle charging, and DoorDash has partnered with organizations like Plug in America to improve EV awareness and accelerate EV Sales in California.

Dashers who’ve switched to electric and plug-in hybrid cars report that they’re saving on delivery costs and enjoying better safety features in addition to reducing emissions.

Reusable Packaging

Reusable packaging cuts down on waste and can help businesses save money. A study found that businesses can save up to $22,000 annually by serving their food using reusable products. Our reusable packaging program continued to have a global impact in 2024 across the countries served by DoorDash and Wolt. Customers in 10+ countries and major US cities like Los Angeles and New York made more than 50,000 orders in reusable containers.
