Empowering Local Economies
DoorDash connects Dashers, merchants, and communities across Australia. For cafés, restaurants, and shops, it’s a partner for growth. For Dashers, it’s flexible, independent work that fits around real life—helping local economies thrive.

DoorDash Gives Back
Through this effort, we are able to provide DoorDash gift cards to nonprofits that are carrying out our shared goals. Since the program's launch in 2021, we have been able to donate over AUD $300,000 worth of credits to 28 groups.
Paul Fitzpatrick, Head of Food & Financial Assistance at Anglicare Sydney, said: “These food credits from DoorDash have helped us support people who might otherwise struggle to access our service. From difficulties with transport to chronic health issues or family circumstances, there are many reasons it can be hard to find the right support. With these credits, we have been able to assist people doing it tough with the food and essentials they need.”
This initiative is about supporting small businesses during their most vulnerable times, whether it's helping cover payroll, repairing damages, or replacing equipment. Every bit helps. Helping local restaurants recover faster helps local communities recover faster, which is why DoorDash is proud to extend support to those in need via our Local Business Disaster Relief Fund.
Alan Burrell, co-founder of Milki Desserts Cafe, shared his experience as a past recipient: “The DoorDash Local Business Disaster Relief Fund gave our cafe the boost we needed to recover from Cyclone Alfred, keep our team employed, and start rebuilding with purpose. It helped us cover essential costs like inventory, supplier payments, and operational expenses, and gave us the breathing room to reset, refocus, and plan for growth. It’s support like this that helps small businesses stay resilient and rebuild with confidence.”
