Before her early retirement, Monica worked as a full-time accounting manager at an IT firm—but it just wasn’t working for her. The stress was taking a toll on her health, so she decided to make a change.
These days, as a Dasher, Monica creates her own schedule and earns when and how she wants to: “I’ve been working since I was 15 years old. I am now 58 years old, and I love the fact that I don’t have a boss. I’m my boss.”

“Dashing allows me to be stress-free,” she says. “I love the flexibility of dashing. If there’s times when I want to dash in the morning, I can dash in the morning. If I want to wait till a little bit later because I’m not feeling good, I can dash later in the afternoon.”
She adds, “I’m a mom of three, and I have five grandchildren. Dashing allows me to spend more time with them.”

On top of the flexibility, Monica enjoys being able to help people out by delivering meals and groceries. “I love when I DoorDash that I can make people smile,” she says.
With dashing now such an important part of her life, Monica doesn’t hesitate to get the word out.
“I recommend dashing to everybody,” she says. “I’ve recommended to teenagers who just need something to kind of get them through high school, some cash money. I’ve recommended it to seniors. I’ve recommended it to all my friends that are looking for something to try or to work at.”
