Small businesses are the heart of Main Street — they make up 99.9% of all U.S. businesses and fuel nearly half of America’s GDP. But behind every open sign is a fight to keep the lights on: rising costs, daily operational challenges, and the uphill task of getting noticed make owning a business challenging. To meet these challenges, DoorDash launched the Accelerator for Local Businesses to equip local entrepreneurs with mentorship and the tools they need to grow and sustain their businesses.

Today, we’re proud to share that this fall, our Accelerator will support 36 entrepreneurs across San Francisco, CA, Greater Providence, RI, and Scranton, PA.

This fall’s cohorts will be aided by a number of local small business support organizations, with SFMADE and La Cocina supporting our San Francisco Cohort, Rhode Island Hospitality Association supporting our Greater Providence cohort, and The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center supporting our Scranton cohort.

These participants join the ranks of more than 1,000 entrepreneurs across America who have completed the Accelerator program through cohorts across the country and online.

Local business owners participating will benefit from tailored in-person and virtual programming on optimizing menus, operations, and their DoorDash storefront and accessing county-wide small business resources – such as financing options, certification programs, government contracting opportunities, and local business support services – from local small businesses support organizations. Participants will also receive $5,000 in DoorDash promotion credits with technical training to launch impactful, far-reaching campaigns to drive traffic and revenue via the DoorDash platform.

DoorDash has become a key partner to hundreds of thousands of businesses in the U.S., helping entrepreneurs expand their reach throughout their communities. We’re excited to continue empowering local economies by connecting consumers with the best of their neighborhoods, and we look forward to seeing all that this cohort accomplishes.
