Food access is important throughout the year but is especially top of mind in communities throughout the United States during the Thanksgiving season as holiday meals stretch the budgets of many households.  During this busy time for food banks and food pantries, DoorDash is partnering with nonprofit organizations across the country to give back to the communities we serve this Thanksgiving season through our Community Credits program and Project DASH

To help get holiday meals and winter coats to local families, DoorDash donated more than $35,000 in direct contributions and Community Credits to nonprofits in California, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Texas, and Washington. Some of our partners in these states include:

"We knew we wanted to do something for the community; we usually do Thanksgiving boxes or Thanksgiving baskets," Galilee Baptist Church Senior Pastor Dr. Michael T. Scott Sr. said. "We reached out to some of our partners and DoorDash was the main partner that emerged."

"We are so excited to have had the opportunity to invite our community here, to our church, and for the amazing partnership we’ve had with DoorDash to help make this possible,” said Galilee Baptist Church’s Leading Lady Dr. Tamara Scott.

“Having access to meals and essential items makes a significant difference during the holidays and DoorDash is proud to partner with so many impactful organizations to help broaden access,” said Casey Anthony, Head of North America Public Engagement at DoorDash. “Helping families facing food insecurity access a Thanksgiving meal can make a meaningful difference and we’re proud to support our partners who are helping ensure families across the country have a Thanksgiving meal they can enjoy.”

Through Project DASH, our initiative to empower social impact organizations—such as food banks and pantries—to work with Dashers and use DoorDash technology to provide local delivery to their communities, we’re partnering with organizations across the country to distribute Thanksgiving meals to community members experiencing food insecurity. This year, DoorDash is powering deliveries from these partners as part of their Thanksgiving food distributions in California, Maine, and New York.

Since 2018, Project DASH has powered over 5 million deliveries of an estimated more than 80 million meals across the U.S. and Canada. If you’d like to partner with Project DASH, please email us at projectdash@doordash.com

Our work to broaden access, whether through local delivery via Project DASH or through Community Credits that helps organizations provide food and essential items, is made possible by our partners across the U.S. and Canada. This Thanksgiving, we celebrate all of our partners, Dashers, and community members.
