Nakeya loves helping people. That drive led her to her career as a full-time social worker—and dashing fits in perfectly with her lifestyle.

“I like to DoorDash on the weekends to earn additional money and spend time with my daughter,” she shares.

And they make a great team: she jokingly calls her daughter Nashiah her “quality control.” In return, Nashiah shares in her earnings.

“I bring my daughter along because she enjoys dashing with me, and I use that money to go towards her allowance to teach her life skills.”

“My daughter loves dashing,” she adds. “She's the one who always wants to do it.”

In addition to the mother-daughter quality time and extra cash for things like vacation and other expenses, Nakeya values the flexibility of dashing.

"It's important to have the flexibility of Dashing because obviously I have a full-time job, I have my own life."

“It's important to have the flexibility of Dashing because obviously I have a full-time job, I have my own life,” says Nakeya. “Being able to just kind of do it as needed or when I want to is very important.”

“I absolutely love being my own boss,” she says.
