Since 2022 alone, we’ve launched over a dozen new safety features designed to help Dashers stay safe, including real-time safety alerts, SafeDash check-ins, and in-app SafeDash Reporting.
In June, we proudly launched our first-ever Safety Awareness Month. The initiative was designed to spotlight our robust safety features and help even more Dashers become aware of the resources available to them.
Dashers participated in the first-ever Safety Awareness Dasher Day meet-up in Los Angeles, California, where they could get information about our safety features, free swag – including new Birdie Safety Alarms – and offer direct feedback and insights about some of the safety issues they’ve faced to help advance safety on the platform.
We added a Birdie Safety Alarm to the Dasher store – a travel-safe, easy-to-use alarm to help Dashers protect themselves during deliveries. This small device is like having a fire alarm in your pocket, to give Dashers even more peace of mind. Dashers now have exclusive access to a discounted alarm in the Dasher store.
As a part of the campaign, we sent in-app notifications and emails to Dashers to remind them of existing safety features that can help them stay safe or be used in the rare case that a delivery does not go as planned, including Location Sharing, SafeChat+, Porch Light Reminders, SafeDash™ Check-In, Emergency Contacts and more. We also released a blog highlighting driving safety tips from experienced Dashers to help promote a safe dashing experience. In addition, we shared information publicly on our website about safety considerations for female Dashers, and the resources available to them.
Month in and month out, safety is top of mind at DoorDash. We want each person who uses our platform to have a safe and positive experience every time. That’s why the DoorDash team remains committed to promoting our safety offerings and continuing to release new features to make the platform experience even safer.
