DoorDash customers can now support the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Project Open Hand, and Hunger at Home directly on DoorDash. It’s simple to make a donation and customers who contribute $10 or more will receive a $5 credit directly to their accounts to use on a future DoorDash order. This offer applies to donations made through March 29th, while supplies last.

This builds on our 2023 donation pilot with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. You can find each nonprofit on DoorDash and check out as you would with any other order. Your donation goes directly to the anti-hunger organization you choose and supports important work ensuring that people have access to the food they need.

Food insecurity is an issue that continues to impact residents of California. One in five Californians face food insecurity while inflation has continued to drive food prices higher and increase need.

Since 2018, DoorDash has helped broaden food access via Project DASH, our initiative that enables food banks, food pantries, and social impact organizations to leverage DoorDash logistics to increase access. In partnership with the three featured nonprofits (San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Hunger at Home, and Project Open Hand) alone, we’ve powered a combined total of more than 800,000 deliveries of food estimated to provide over 12.5 million meals to Bay Area households experiencing food insecurity. Recently, DoorDash announced more than $500,000 in Project DASH Impact Grants to over 200 anti-hunger organizations in over 30 states, including some in the Bay Area. Organizations interested in learning more about Project DASH can contact projectdash@doordash.com.

We’re proud to be one part of a larger community working to address this important issue, and to invite customers on DoorDash to join the fight against hunger.
