Today, DoorDash announced Flavor Fest, an exciting new campaign to spotlight and support local restaurants across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

Running February 19 through March 11, Flavor Fest features more than 300 local storefronts across the DMV, including 163 in D.C. alone, backed by a $700,000 DoorDash investment in promotions and advertising.

Local restaurants are the backbone of DMV’s neighborhoods and economy, supporting over 66,000 jobs in D.C. alone and accounting for $7.7 billion in restaurant and food service sales. Flavor Fest is designed to drive real support to these businesses and encourage consumers to explore their own neighborhoods even more.

How It Works

Participating restaurants will be featured in a dedicated Flavor Fest section of the DoorDash app, making it easier for consumers to discover local spots they’ve never tried. Participating restaurants will be offering special promotions and exclusive deals throughout the campaign.

DoorDash is also offering an Order Local Challenge: consumers who order from 3 local restaurants during the 20-day campaign will receive 50% off (up to $10) on their next order of $12 or more.

“DoorDash is your door to the best of your local community," said Clark Kaericher, Head of U.S. State and Local Public Policy at DoorDash. “Flavor Fest is our invitation to discover somewhere new or rediscover a neighborhood favorite. It’s a celebration of the DMV’s vibrant food culture and another way we’re showing up for the local businesses who make the region so special. When local businesses do well, we all do well. It’s that simple.”

"DoorDash has been a true partner to our industry — not just in launching Flavor Fest, but in delivering real support to restaurants when they need it most. Restaurants are the backbone of our neighborhoods, and initiatives like this go a long way in driving customers, increasing visibility, and keeping people working," said Shawn Townsend, President & CEO, Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW).

“DoorDash allows us to bring our food from our kitchen to your kitchen, dining room, or sofa – so no worries about cooking because we’ve got you covered,” said Zandrique Harrold, Vice President of Operations, Milk & Honey, part of Thompson Restaurants, participating restaurant in Flavor Fest.
