At DoorDash, we’re committed to not only providing immediate relief, but also supporting affected communities — including local Dashers, consumers, and merchants — as they rebuild in the months and years ahead.

Here are the actions we’ve taken to prepare for and respond to this disaster.

Responding Quickly to Keep Our Community Safe

Even before Hurricane Helene made landfall, we activated our Severe Weather Protocol, suspending operations across Florida and Georgia to prioritize the safety of Dashers and customers. As the hurricane’s impact spread, we extended these precautions to more states including North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

To help communities recover and get local businesses back on their feet, we have resumed operations in most areas. We remain suspended in some of the hardest-hit areas but are closely monitoring the recovery efforts and plan to resume operations as soon as it is safe and practical to do so.

Delivering Relief and Resources

We’re contributing $50,000 in Community Credits to help local organizations provide immediate relief to the families and communities they serve. With these gift cards, these organizations can help families recovering from the disaster in the coming months easily access food and essential supplies, including groceries and diapers, from local restaurants, grocers, and retailers as they reopen. We’ve contributed to the following organizations:

  • United Way of Coastal Empire (Georgia)

  • Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Spartanburg (South Carolina)

  • Progressive National Baptist Convention

Additionally, through Project DASH, we’re supporting local partner 211 Big Bend in Tallahassee, Florida. 211 Big Bend has been working with Dashers to deliver food and other essentials to those in need, providing critical relief and support to their local community.

Helping Local Restaurants Rebuild

Local restaurants are more than just places to enjoy a meal; they are a place for gathering and are often the lifeblood of their communities. That’s why we’re providing $150,000 in relief grants through our Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund to support local businesses specifically impacted by Hurricane Helene.

These funds can help cover vital expenses such as rent, repairs, lost inventory, and payroll, allowing restaurant owners to recover quickly. Eligible restaurant owners affected by Hurricane Helene can apply now through May 2025.

To learn more and apply, restaurant owners can visit https://get.doordash.com/en-us/about/disaster-relief-fund.

We will continue to provide updates on our efforts to support local communities as they work towards recovering and rebuilding from this tragic disaster.
