As part of our ongoing work to broaden food access, Project DASH recently marked more than 100 million charitable meals delivered via 6 million deliveries thanks to our partners. Project DASH partners with food banks, food pantries, and community organizations to provide home deliveries of charitable food and essential items.
In celebration of that milestone, now through August 25th, DoorDash customers can support our partners’ work with their next order on DoorDash. Enter the promo code PROJECTDASH at checkout on any order and DoorDash will donate $3 to Feeding America, Meals on Wheels America, and United Way Worldwide – national organizations leading the movement to end hunger.*
With more than 44 million people across the U.S. experiencing food insecurity in 2022, access to affordable, nutritious food remains a serious and widespread challenge. Transportation barriers create additional difficulties for vulnerable groups such as seniors, low-income families, and people living with chronic health conditions. Home delivery is an essential way to broaden food access. A recent Urban Institute Study, supported by DoorDash, concluded that home delivery breaks down barriers for people experiencing food insecurity.
Today’s announcement builds on our previous work to help customers support Bay Area anti-hunger organizations. Earlier this year, DoorDash announced more than $500,000 in Project DASH Impact Grants to more than 200 hunger relief organizations in over 30 states.
